Background
We are experienced clinical instructors ourselves and work in various areas of nursing. In inpatient acute care, in outpatient acute care, inpatient long-term care and outpatient long-term care. We are experts in our fields of work and have many years of professional experience, including instructing and dealing with trainees and students from a wide range of backgrounds.
From our professional views, this could be a major problem for trainees and students and we firmly believe that it causes a great deal of problems among nursing trainees and students, which may be the reason for the increase in the dropout rates.
Few studies showed this impression and it is also a problem in various countries around the world. Therefore we decided to conduct a research study on this phenomenon throughout Germany with our joint research project "Better Nursing Education (BNE+)".
